Position Overview
NuWest is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting. This role provides care across short-term stay, rehab, and long-term residents. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically confident, and comfortable floating to any unit. Please note that overtime is not offered on this assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to short-term stay, rehab, and long-term care residents
- Perform wound care, including wound vacs, and ostomy care (ileostomy and colostomy)
- Manage feeding tubes (PEG, J-tube, G-tube), tube feed pumps, and Foley catheter care
- Administer IV fluids and antibiotics, and operate IV pumps
- Provide basic tracheostomy care (no ventilators)
- Accurately document care and communicate resident status to the interdisciplinary team
- Float to all units as needed to meet resident care needs
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license with no disciplinary actions
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in LTC, SNF, LTAC, or rehab
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Must live more than 50 minutes from the assignment location
- Must pass background check and drug screening
