Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Surgical ACE unit at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring proven experience in high-volume, fast-paced trauma environments.

Details

• 32-bed Surgical ACE unit (5A) within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Adult and older adult patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Trauma patients managed alongside Heparin drips and other acute medications
• Specialty equipment includes gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment
• Epic EMR used
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Block scheduling is not approved on most units
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Documented Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments with complex and diverse cases
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment
• Experience with skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) training is a plus
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• A completed skills checklist matching the Med/Surg Telemetry specialty is required for consideration
