Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a specialized 225-bed community hospital in the central region of Michigan's upper peninsula. The role involves providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients within a fast-paced environment, emphasizing critical thinking and decision-making skills. The RN will work on a Medical/Surgical floor with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes and ensuring safety during every shift.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Requires a valid Michigan nursing license, Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), at least 2 years of relevant experience on a Medical/Surgical unit, and current certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience on a medical/surgical unit and familiarity with telemetry monitors and IV pumps
- Additional Information: The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with patient ratios of approximately 5:1 to 6:1. The facility utilizes Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system, and staff must adhere to dress code policies, including wearing Galaxy Blue or Navy scrubs, maintaining professional appearance, and covering tattoos if applicable. Flexibility for occasional to like-unit float rotations may be required.
