Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Informatics Coordinator

We are especially interested in a Registered Nurse with Women/Infant/Children Services experience. This position provides Informatics expertise and resources for a facility or specialty area, including ongoing user training and informatics support for various teams and committees. It supports the organization’s vision and direction for computer systems, process design, data management and related processes. The informatics coordinator serves as a liaison between clinical support staff and the Clinical Information System IT team to communicate user needs and facilitate system modification to meet user needs. Responsibilities Provide Informatics expertise and resources for the facility and specialty areas; offer ongoing user training, support, and guidance for various teams and committees. Act as a liaison between clinical support staff and the Clinical Information System IT team; communicate user needs, support workflow improvements, and facilitate system enhancements that align with clinical practice. Develop and implement training materials related to changes and upgrades in the EMR and clinical application systems; coordinate communication and education plans with clinical educators and management; provide clinical application system training and support. Maintain ongoing user communication and support to ensure user competency; gather information on usage and workflow concerns through regular rounds; collaborate with end-users, physicians, and clinicians to identify issues and enhancement opportunities. Identify methodologies for implementing informatics solutions and data structures to support health care access, delivery, and evaluation; provide consultation and project support for deployment of new IT clinical applications. Maintain an on-going user support structure by identifying super users and organizing regular meetings; promote patient safety and confidentiality; coordinate with leadership and IT to resolve conflicts between workflow and information systems. Keep up-to-date with trends in healthcare informatics and nursing practices; participate in interdisciplinary process improvement teams; develop and evaluate communication tools and processes; escalate critical issues to leadership as needed. Qualifications Must possess diverse clinical knowledge and technology aptitude typically obtained through a bachelor\'s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. The incumbent will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with licensure in the practicing state. Proficiency in the use of office and clinical systems; strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize rapidly; ability to convey messages clearly to a diverse audience; ability to promote change among large groups; ability to coordinate information and activities under deadlines; familiarity with clinical care processes and information technology. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred.
