Salary $16.25 per hour Description of Job Function Performs general clerical and reception duties within the department; greets and directs walk‑ins. Answers telephone, refers calls and takes messages for department staff. Performs basic data entry and types correspondence for the department as directed by the supervisor. Operates standard office equipment as needed to perform tasks. Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to organize and prioritize assignments. Ability to effectively interact with others. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to use a personal computer and office equipment. Basic keyboarding skills. Required Minimum Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred Experience Six (6) months experience in a customer service or clerical position. General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely use standard office equipment including computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning oneself, and occasionally ascending or descending, lifting or moving objects weighing between 5‑15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close and at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision‑making.
