Description

American Traveler is hiring a Wound Care RN with CA licensure, WCC certification, and prior charge experience for a day-shift hospital assignment.

Details

• Hospital Wound Care unit setting
• Patient acuity of approximately one patient every 30 minutes, with 8-10 patients daily
• Patient ratio of 1:9
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8 hours (0800-1630)
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• WCC certification required
• WOCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in wound treatments including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, debridement techniques, silver products, and wound vac therapy
• Experience with ulcer risk assessment tools including Braden scale
• Experience managing pressure, venous, arterial, and neuropathic ulcers and staging
• Experience with ostomy and colostomy/ileostomy management and care
• Skilled in continence therapeutic devices and catheter management
• Knowledge of G-tube/J-tube feeding, infection control, and isolation precautions
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including skin and wound management
• Provides patient and family education and supports transitions of care
• Develops and manages interdisciplinary care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors
• Maintains collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers
• Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
• Accepts local candidates at the local rate
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers not specified as eligible for this position
