Location Waukesha, WI - Acetylene production & filling Recruiter Kailee Cooper / View email address on click.appcast.io Responsibilities Load and unload gas cylinders and other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers using proper carts only. Sort empty cylinders by type to maintain an organized workflow. Roll cylinders and operate a forklift truck for the movement of cylinders on pallets. Develop an understanding of hazards of various gases; read and interpret cylinder labels and color‑coding; label cylinders accurately. Safely care for high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders; prepare high‑pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling; attach to manifold and evacuate cylinders to eliminate contaminants. Assist with basic cylinder maintenance such as painting, labeling, and cleaning the work area. Inspect cylinders prior to filling and conduct safety checks (odor tests, caps and valves) per government, Airgas and distributor standards. Fill cylinders by pressure and weight following regulations and standards. Check cylinder quantities, styles and product; assist the team with inventory. Coordinate documentation to DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets as required. Uphold all government and company standards related to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing operation; filling or loading experience is a plus. Familiarity with the gas, welding, safety supply or chemical industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets and maintain a secure environment. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Supportive customer service skills. Self‑motivated and able to contribute effectively in a fast‑paced environment. High level of detail orientation and precision. Basic arithmetic skills in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages. Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided). Physical dexterity to navigate the plant floor (walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching). Vision abilities required for safety (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception). Physical coordination for standing, bending, stooping, reaching and grasping; effective communication and hearing within the facility. Sensory awareness to detect environmental cues such as gas odors or sounds. Occasional movement through the facility, fine motor tasks or computer entry. Capacity to regularly lift up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with material‑handling equipment. Benefits Competitive pay starting at $23.50 per hour.
