This is a full-time position that begins as early as August 1, 2027. English Education is the discipline responsible for the teaching of composition, literature, other textual forms, and language for secondary-level students (grades 6-12). Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face and/or online) Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students Purposefully engage school and community partners Collaborate with English Education faculty in innovative development and redesign of curriculum, particularly in the initial certification of secondary English language arts education teachers across the state of Georgia Engage in departmental, college, university and professional service Additional Requirements Required Qualifications for this position include: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in English Education, adolescent literacy, or a related field completed by the start of employment A minimum of three years of in-field literacy teaching experience as a fully certified secondary English/Language Arts (Grades 6-12) teacher in school settings Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification Preferred Experience and Preferred Competencies for this position include: Demonstrated expertise in initial teacher preparation in secondary English/Language Arts (Grades 6-12) within a university setting.
