Collections Specialist I (Grade 5)

Job Title

This position is advertised at the minimum hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer. Nature of Work

Facilitates monetary court order enforcement through a centralized collections unit; performs cross functional work in managing judicial collections to ensure the prompt, efficient, and uniform enforcement of court orders and collections of monies owed to the Superior Court, three Justice Courts, Adult Probation and Juvenile Court.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma or equivalent; AND three years of clerical and computer experience that includes bookkeeping, accounting, record keeping and/or collections or closely related duties; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Additional requirements: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required; employees in this classification are required to be appointed as a Superior Court Special Commissioner and Deputized by the Clerk of Court.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, operational policies and procedures, Federal rules, and requirements; Yuma County and Superior Court policies and procedures; Superior Court in Yuma County- Rules of the Judicial Merit System and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; paraprofessional accounting and bookkeeping practices; basic principles and practices of Superior and Justice Court collections case management and skip tracing; Arizona Judicial Automated Case System (AJACS) and Tax Intercept (TIP) software; legal terminology and court processes and procedures; modern office procedures and terminology. Skills in: Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; working under pressure in a dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities; maintaining complex financial records; coordinating, monitoring, and training work assignments; preparing statistical and financial reports; reviewing for completeness, accuracy and compliance with statues, rules and specific requirements; operating a personal computer utilizing both standard and specialized AOC software applications; entering, adjusting, and retrieving data; and making mathematical calculations rapidly and accurate; developing and maintaining interpersonal skills for working with a diverse group of individuals that include judges, court staff, litigants, attorneys and the general public. Ability to: Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with judges, attorneys, elected officials, court employees, users of the court's services, and the public; follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Medical Coverage Category The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from two (2) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families. Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit. Plan Option 2: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit. Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the "Wellness Incentive" employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes. International Medical Solutions (IMS): IMS is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and HDHP. Members enrolled in the PPO plan can pay as little as $5 copay for doctor visits & prescription drug services, with no maximum cap. High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) pay toward their deductible until is met. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 80% of the services covered, and the member will be responsible for the remaining 20% coinsurance.
