Custodial Worker

The custodial worker maintains clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a fast-paced food service environment. This role supports safe food preparation and service by ensuring all back-of-house areas meet cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, including floors, counters, prep stations, and storage spaces.
• Clean, sanitize, and properly store kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils after use.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and according to guidelines.
• Remove trash, recyclables, and food waste from kitchen areas and dispose of them properly.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of dishwashing and utility areas.
• Monitor the condition of equipment and report any issues or needed repairs promptly.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Collaborate with kitchen and food service staff to support smooth operations.
• Interact with coworkers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy kitchen environment within a food service operation. Work involves continuous standing for up to 8 hours per shift and frequent movement around kitchen and utility areas. Two primary shifts are available: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with openness to working weekends and holidays required. The setting is fast-paced, with regular exposure to heat, moisture, and cleaning chemicals. You will use standard cleaning tools and equipment while adhering to safety and sanitation procedures. Attire should be practical, clean, and appropriate for a kitchen environment, following site-specific guidelines for footwear and clothing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.15 - $16.15/hr.
