The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a per-diem breast pathologist. BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and an internationally renowned principal teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center-affiliated Cancer Center.

In addition, the Pathology department is proud and excited to be an integral part of the landmark collaboration among Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England's only freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will provide unparalleled opportunities for pathology and other physician specialties to be part of DFCI's internationally recognized cancer team.

We seek an energetic, team-oriented breast pathologist who will contribute to the Department's diagnostic excellence, academic mission, and continued innovation. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong diagnostic skills in breast oncologic surgical pathology
• A collaborative spirit and interest in working closely with molecular pathologists and oncologists to support precision oncology, machine learning and clinical trials
• An interest in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students
• An academic trajectory of scholarly interests in breast disease, translational research, or quality improvement

In addition to strong diagnostic skills in surgical pathology, expertise in molecular diagnostics or digital pathology is desirable. Strong interest in further developing the crucial role of Pathology in clinical trials is a plus, including new companion diagnostics.

Applicants must be board certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP) and hold a valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one.
