Our organization is in search of a physician leader to take on the role of Clinical Director for the Cell and Gene Therapy program within the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics. This position presents a remarkable chance to steer a well-established yet evolving program at a crucial juncture, as the department outlines its long-term vision and growth strategy.

The program boasts a successful viral vector manufacturing facility and testing laboratory, underpinned by a robust foundation in gene therapy and a history of NIH-supported initiatives. Following recent leadership changes and funding adjustments, we are looking for a visionary leader who can provide clinical insight and strategic guidance for the program's next chapter.

The Cell and Gene Therapy program is integrated within a comprehensive Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, supported by a strong clinical and research framework. Historically, the program has achieved significant success and encompasses expertise in clinical care, laboratory science, and regulatory processes.

• A large, nationally recognized genetics department
• A solid foundation in viral vector manufacturing and testing capabilities
• Established laboratory and translational expertise
• Existing knowledge in cellular immunotherapy and regulatory processes (FDA)
• Strong institutional commitment to ongoing growth and innovation

The Clinical Director will be pivotal in determining the program’s future direction. This role offers flexibility in its structure and can be tailored to align with the candidate’s experience and interests.

Key focus areas include:

• Defining clinical and programmatic scope while supporting regulatory and compliance processes
• Building consensus among stakeholders and identifying growth and innovation opportunities
• Enhancing integration with clinical and laboratory teams

• Board-certified or board-eligible MD, or MD/PhD
• Experience in translational cell and gene therapy, immunotherapy, or related fields
• Familiarity with clinical regulatory and compliance environments (FDA or equivalent)
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities
• Interest in program development and academic medicine
