P.E Teacher

Title: Part‑Time Physical Education Teacher (PK‑8) Reports to: Principal St. Edward’s Catholic School is a faith‑filled, student‑centered micro‑school committed to academic excellence, strong community, and the development of the whole child. We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Part‑Time Physical Education Teacher to join our team. General Description St. Edward’s Catholic School is seeking a part‑time Physical Education teacher who will foster a positive, faith‑filled environment while helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for health, fitness, and teamwork. The P.E. teacher supports the mission and philosophy of the school, follows diocesan and school policies, and collaborates with staff to provide a well‑rounded educational experience for all students. Key Responsibilities Create a positive, faith‑filled environment that supports student growth and well‑being Plan and deliver engaging, active, and developmentally appropriate physical education lessons Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive conflict resolution Teach skills related to physical fitness, movement, and health using a variety of instructional strategies Ensure maximum participation and differentiate instruction so all students experience success Maintain effective classroom management and a safe learning environment Organize and prepare equipment and instructional materials Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support growth Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally with staff, students, and families Supervise students and ensure their safety at all times Participate in professional development and school initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal Qualifications Passion for working with children and promoting health and wellness Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all learners Excellent communication and collaboration skills; positive and supportive team member Teaching certification preferred, but not required Schedule This is a part‑time position with a flexible schedule, to be determined in collaboration with the principal. The position is approximately two half‑days per week and includes compensation for preparation. Why St. Edward’s?
