Traffic Controller/Flagger

Traffic Control Flaggers are responsible for maintaining safe traffic flow through construction, utility, and roadway work zones. Flaggers communicate with motorists, pedestrians, and crew members to ensure a safe working environment while following all traffic control regulations and safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct traffic through construction and work zones using signs, paddles, flags, and hand signals.
• Maintain a safe work environment for crew members, motorists, and pedestrians.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices as directed.
• Monitor traffic conditions and communicate hazards to supervisors and coworkers.
• Follow all company safety policies and state/local traffic control regulations.
• Remain alert and attentive during all shifts.
• Assist with general labor duties when traffic control responsibilities allow.
• Report incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.
• Traffic Control/Flagger Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Must be able to pass any client-required screenings.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to moving traffic, construction equipment, and uneven terrain.
• Early morning, daytime, overtime, and weekend work may be required.
