Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Nurse

We are seeking a qualified Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Nurse to join our dynamic clinical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care across multiple facilities within the designated geographic zone.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and implement nursing interventions in a timely manner.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including titrating drips such as Heparin.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes across various units.
• Float between multiple specialties, including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, and General Medicine.
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the EPIC charting system.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection prevention practices at all times.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure and relevant certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• A minimum of two years of experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry.
• Experience in neuro nursing is preferred.
• Strong ability to float within a 60-mile radius of multiple facilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.

Schedule & Availability

The schedule will be released 4 to 6 weeks in advance, with two possible formats:

• Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week, with the potential to float within that facility.
• Option B: Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments given 1 to 2 hours before shift start via call.

Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with 6 to 9 weekend shifts expected in a 6-week schedule.

Additional Information

All clinicians must be present for orientation, regardless of any remote modules completed prior. Cancellations may result in shift reductions as part of the contract policies.
