Environmental Analyst I GCMS - Laboratory

Position Analyst – Durham, NC Compensation $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with skills and geographic location. Responsibilities Quantitative sample analysis by Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS). Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports. Instrument calibration and validation. Instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of consumables and parts. Maintaining organized records of sample preparation, analysis, equipment maintenance, and data collected off‑site. Contributing to overhead projects that improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses. Communicating relevant updates to applicable stakeholders in a timely manner. Working on multiple batches with minimal instruction from a supervisor. Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company. Compliance with Onterris Quality Assurance Program and other policies. Compliance with Company’s Health and Safety Plan. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Ability to routinely meet QA/QC requirements for assays performed. Strong documentation, timeliness, and throughput that align with laboratory standards. Proficiency in instrument maintenance and moderate-level troubleshooting. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting 50 pounds several times a day. Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds. Work in an office environment.
