Employment Details Employment Status: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE - Roanoke Requisition Number: R161342 How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare The Clinical Associate performs clinical and clerical support, provides basic technical clinical services and clerical support in the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, physician or mid‑level practitioner. They perform basic clinical services relating to the care, cleanliness, safety, and comfort of patients. The Clinical Associate may be approved for phlebotomy tasks with the proper certification, department need and leadership consent. Responsibilities • Perform clinical and clerical support, including collection of patient assessment data (height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, current medications, etc.)

• Review medical record and provider orders, order department supplies and equipment, and maintain supplies stock
• Process and clean equipment between patients as needed
• Operate and maintain general office equipment
• Transport patients through building and maintain regulatory compliance (refrigerator, code cart checks, glucose meters, equipment room storage, etc.)
• Provide basic nursing care and advanced technical skills according to established standards
• Support staff scheduling, including lunch assignments
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges as competencies allow
• Coordinate patient flow using department/unit software and intranet
• Serve as “face” of the unit, adhere to dress code, demonstrate service excellence and telephone etiquette
• Screen incoming calls via telephone and patient call system, route calls, and take messages accurately
• Act as resource for department/software system
• Independently transport patients monitoring condition and interpret EKG rhythms when required
• Observe cardiac monitors, interpret and document rhythm patterns, report arrhythmias to RN, and file documentation
• Apply monitoring equipment and ensure proper functioning
• Contribute to orientation and career development of others
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy to patients, families and colleagues

Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration – if working in a Critical Access Area, a Certified Nursing Assistant (N.A.) is required; must have successfully completed a N.A. course or the Carilion N.A. course. Monitor Technician courses (through Carilion) required if working in a monitored area. Phlebotomy and sheath courses (through Carilion) required if skill set is necessary. Life Support: AHA BLS‑HCP required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and team‑working skills; organization and self‑motivation; knowledge of office procedure and equipment. Compensation $18.70 – $26.18 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior experience. Compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
