About the Position

Permanent candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. The role requires at least 1 year of experience. Candidates must have high-risk experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Candidates should expect to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating between departments may be required, including postpartum and antepartum care. Staffing will adhere to established guidelines. The unit handles high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery. Candidates will function in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries. Care for the newborn will continue until transfer to postpartum. Assessment responsibilities include newborn care, administering vitamin K injections, and ensuring proper warm temperature management. The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit consists of 31 rooms and beds. Schedule will be posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs. Travelers may float to other units if necessary. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Communication devices will be provided as needed for the role. Candidates may be required to complete modules prior to the start of the assignment. References are required from the past 3 years.
