Do you love working professionally with food but don't want to work late nights and weekends? Our Kitchen Commissary Prep Cook position is for the experienced prep cook who is passionate about food and seeks a steady schedule with morning hours.

This position is 7am to 3pm, Monday-Friday.

About Us:

Old Scratch Pizza has been serving the Dayton area Neapolitan-style pizza at multiple locations for 9+ years. We do all prep on site in our commissary kitchen located in Centerville.

We batch-produce fresh sauces, salad dressings, pizza dough, and sausages for all four of our restaurants from scratch. We use fresh, high-quality ingredients and proprietary recipes to cook all of our food using straightforward cooking methods; no preservatives.

Everything is made in-house, packaged, and delivered to each restaurant with the highest standards for quality, freshness, and safety. We take pride in prepping our ingredients on site to maintain the highest quality possible.

What you bring to the table:

• Experience in large-scale batch food production (ie: banquets, hotels, hospitals, large restaurants)
• Experience in batch cooking/prep of large scale sauces, dressings and meats.
• Prepared to meet ODA kitchen requirements
• Training in food safety, demonstrated by clean & sanitary work practices
• Valid Ohio driver's license
• Self-motivated achiever interested in learning and growing
• Reliability - we can count on you to show up for the team
• Bright friendly attitude and willingness to help out a teammate in need
• Ability to read recipes and detailed instructions
• Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds

What your work day might look like:

• Gathering ingredients and scaling recipes for production
• Utilizing large state-of-the-art appliances to blend or cook food for large batches
• Delivering product to Old Scratch Pizza locations
• Keeping detailed inventory and temperature logs for all food preparation
• Portioning, packaging, and labeling all prep items
• Cleaning and sanitizing before and between all projects - including cleaning appliances, and maintaining organization in the storage areas

Work Environment:

This job entails frequent exposure to high temperatures and extreme cold. There is frequent contact/immersion of hands in water and sanitation solutions; as well as contact with produce items, dairy products, and frequent allergen related items such as nuts, citrus, gluten, etc.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds, may be required to stock inventory and supplies.
• Have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, may be required to operate and use various kitchen equipment and tools.
• Ability to communicate and avoid dangerous situations
