DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on giving daily support to residents in a structured care setting while following established health and safety practices. You ensure comfort, safety, and respectful interactions in every part of the care process. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Resident Observation: Watch for changes in resident conditions and report findings to nursing staff
• Daily Documentation: Record the care you provide using approved forms and electronic systems
• Personal Support: Assist residents with introductions, belongings, and adjustment to their surroundings
• Health Monitoring: Gather vital signs, collect specimens, and ensure accurate reporting requirements are met
• Care Assistance: Help residents with bathing, grooming, toileting, repositioning, and other daily activities
• Mobility Support: Aid residents with walking, exercise, and moving safely between beds and chairs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and be required to work every other weekend.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,171.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
• This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
