Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator - Aurora, ILThe Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting production and logistics by safely operating sit-down forklifts, transporting materials, staging raw goods for machine operators, and managing inventory through order picking, shipment verification, and use of warehouse systems. This position works a 12-hour rotating night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. in a high-volume manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklifts to safely move oversized pallets and plastic lumber throughout the warehouse and production areas.Transport raw materials to designated staging areas and ensure machine operators have the materials they need to keep production running without interruption.Perform general labor and material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials and products as required.Pick orders accurately and prepare shipments according to established procedures and documentation requirements.Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading and other shipping documents to ensure accuracy.Utilize warehouse inventory systems, computers, RF scanners, and UPS shipping tools to track, process, and document inventory and shipments.Support shipping and receiving activities, including labeling, sorting, and organizing materials and finished goods.Conduct cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.Follow all safety guidelines when operating forklifts and handling materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work area, even in a dusty or dirty environment, and adhere to housekeeping standards.Collaborate with team members and machine operators to support efficient production flow and on-time order fulfillment.Essential SkillsAt least 2+ years of warehouse experience operating a sit-down forklift in a production or distribution environment.Demonstrated ability to operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently when moving oversized pallets and heavy materials.Ability to perform general labor and material handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading, unloading, and preparing shipments.Proficiency using computers for warehouse functions, including data entry and basic navigation of inventory or shipping systems.Experience using UPS shipping tools for processing and tracking outbound shipments.Ability to use RF scanners for order picking, inventory tracking, and cycle counting.Familiarity with bills of lading and standard shipping documentation.Knowledge of basic inventory practices, including order fulfillment, inventory tracking, and cycle counts.Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment.Comfort working around large, heavy materials such as plastic lumber and oversized pallets.Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments, completing documentation, and tracking inventory.Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean work area in a busy, high-volume setting.Reliability in attendance and performance, especially in an overtime-rich environment.Adaptability to a hot and sometimes dirty environment while maintaining safety and productivity.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers the chance to work with a large, well-established organization that provides significant room for growth and advancement.
