Private Equity Associate & Senior Associate (Immediate/Summer 2027)

A growing middle-market healthcare private equity firm is adding to its investment team in New York. You’ll work directly with partners, see live deals from screening through close, and be close to how value gets built after close.

Two Hires

Associate (from investment banking). This is your first buy-side seat, and you’d be a core member of a small deal team rather than one of a large associate class. It suits analysts finishing a two- or three-year banking program who want real responsibility from the start and a firm where they can build a long-term career in healthcare investing.

Senior Associate (experienced buy-side). This is for associates currently in a two- or three-year private equity program. This seat is built for the long term: there’s a clear path to VP and beyond, more ownership of deal execution, and day-to-day leadership of analysts and associates.

What You’ll Own

• Evaluating founder-led healthcare services and tech-enabled businesses, from first screen to investment committee
• Building the operating and LBO models behind each deal and standing behind the numbers when partners test them
• Running diligence workstreams alongside an in-house operating team that works on every portfolio company
• Working on add-on acquisitions across the portfolio. The firm runs an active buy-and-build program, so live transactions come up all the time.
• Supporting portfolio companies on value creation after close, with real exposure to how these businesses are run
• For Senior Associates: more ownership of deal execution and day-to-day leadership of analysts

The Platform

A middle-market private equity firm that invests only in healthcare and takes control positions in cash-flow-positive companies across care delivery, post-acute, behavioral health, provider enablement, and tech-enabled services. Investors and operators work side by side, and the firm is putting real money into data and analytics to inform how it invests and runs its companies.

Requirements

Associate

• Currently in or completing an investment banking analyst program at a bulge-bracket or middle-market boutique bank.
• Healthcare or M&A coverage preferred but not required
• Strong financial modeling and clear written communication

Senior Associate

• A two-year investment banking analyst program, followed by 1–3 years as an associate at a private equity firm (current program associates are encouraged to apply)
• Healthcare investing experience preferred
• Has owned workstreams on live transactions and can manage junior team members

Both roles

• Based in New York, or committed to relocating
• Target start of summer 2027, with flexibility for the right candidate
