If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter — and build a career with a company that's building North America — we want to hear from you!You will be responsible for performing quality control tests on materials (sand/rock) for specific product lines using ASTM and AASHTO standards.Carry out ongoing lab and field sampling. Testing to ensure that material produced and shipped meet State, project and customer specifications. Conducts in depth problem-solving, detail data and trend analysis and troubleshooting, reporting results associated with aggregate material performance. Assist with the documentation of material control plans and material performance data, procedures and project-specific quality control. Performs some service, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field testing equipment. Carries out regular updates to appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance test databases and spreadsheets and provide report summaries or analyses as needed. Trains new employees within the region on QC policies, processes and guidelines. Investigates out-of-spec results, recommends and implements corrective actions. Ensures that SOPs, certifications and testing documentation are accurate and up to date. Self-motivated with a solid work ethic. Highly dependable, ability to work cooperatively in fast paced environment. Ability to learn plant flow and plant operations. Observe and enforce all Amrize US Safety Standards, Advisories, and Policies. Be a responsible advocate for on-the-job safety and the environment. Provide "troubleshooting" guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external. Work under general / minimal supervision; customarily works with limited supervision. Ability to travel to multi region location and work overtime as required. Other responsibilities as assigned. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.Education: High School diploma/GED; two years of post-secondary technical education or course work in Sciences that deal with laboratory functions in preferred. This is a great entry level position for a Geology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences graduate. Required Work Experience: Experience working in varying weather elements preferred. Additional Requirements: At least two years of experience as materials Q.C. Laboratory Technician preferred. Ability to learn the basic operations of aggregate plants. Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Google applications Ability to lift and carry 50lbs over uneven ground for a distance.This job requires shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work. Employees may have the work schedule adjusted on short notice. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
