Welder - Swing Shift

Job Description Job Description Overview The Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal aluminum boxes for industrial electrical control panels, as well as performing structural welding to build frames for E-House projects. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding techniques, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards. Candidates must pass a weld test and demonstrate skills with TIG, MIG, and arc welding on various gauges and heavy tubing. Key Responsibilities Weld metal components using TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding techniques Perform structural welding (4G, 3G) for E-House frames Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications Read and interpret blueprints prior to starting each project Source and prepare materials for welding projects Inspect finished welds to ensure they meet blueprint tolerances and quality standards Maintain a safe and clean work environment, using provided safety equipment at all times Knowledge and Experience Requirements Proficient in various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding Knowledge of both manual and mechanical welding processes Familiarity with metallurgy and material properties relevant to welding Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong attention to detail and quality control Excellent verbal and written communication skills Prior experience with welding 12, 14, 16 gauge materials and heavy tubing (1/4" and 3/8" wall) Core Competencies Precision and attention to detail Strong technical welding skills Ability to follow safety and quality standards Time management and project organization Problem-solving and troubleshooting welding challenges Teamwork and collaboration in a manufacturing environment Skills and Specifications Ability to pass TIG/MIG weld test on multiple gauges and tubing Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and preparing materials Ability to verify finished work against blueprint tolerances Physical stamina for welding tasks, including standing, lifting, and handling materials Knowledge of welding safety protocols and use of PPE Must meet the physical demands of welding, including standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and handling welding equipment Manual dexterity for precise welding and material handling Work Conditions Clean work clothes with steel-toed boots preferred Safety equipment provided and required to be worn at all times Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to metalworking, welding fumes, and machinery Shift Monday through Thursday 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM $3 an hour shift differential for swing schedule \nCompany Description Quality Electrical Systems (QES) is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical distribution equipment based in West Jordan, Utah.
