Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to work in the Roanoke, VA area. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, and paid time off.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Substation Project Engineer to support utility infrastructure projects involving substation assets, energization activities, and asset management processes. This role is primarily office-based and requires close coordination with field personnel, project teams, and engineering stakeholders to ensure assets are properly documented, reviewed, and placed into service.

The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical or utility engineering, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accurate technical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-energization reviews for substation projects.
• Review outage requests, construction prints, attestation reports, and asset database records.
• Monitor project schedules and energization dates to ensure assets are ready for service.
• Verify asset documentation and status updates within utility asset management systems.
• Coordinate with field personnel to confirm installation, removal, and retirement of substation assets.
• Maintain accurate review records and project documentation in SharePoint.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and cost forecasting activities.
• Analyze engineering data and recommend process improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project team members as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Two or more years of related engineering experience in utility, substation, transmission, or distribution environments.
• Knowledge of substation assets, energization processes, and utility operations preferred.
• Experience working with asset management databases, SharePoint, or Power BI is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate with field personnel.

Work Environment

• Onsite position requiring five days per week in the office.
• Occasional visits to substations or field locations may be required.
• No overtime expected.
• No routine travel required.
