Position Cost Accountant I Location Parsippany, NJ Salary Range $74,000 - $87,000/year Minimum Required Qualifications Accounting bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Highly proficient in Excel Attention to detail is a must Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently on assigned projects without the need for close supervision Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment Work authorization: US Citizen (Required) Work Location: Parsippany, NJ Epicor knowledge preferred. ERP working knowledge required Key Responsibilities Overview Your goal is to ensure data integrity. Hundreds of transactions are created daily in the system, and we need to ensure the math and coding is correct. Control and Compliance Daily review of the labor and material transactions related to programs and work orders ensuring they are coded correctly Monitor dashboards related to variances and purchase price adjustments and coordinate the fix with Senior Accountants Daily test the system math for overhead charges and ensure all transactions are calculated correctly, especially during the first three months of the ERP transition Weekly review of invoicing is coded correctly Review and resolve incorrect inventory transactions, invoice records, aging work orders and program costing discrepancies Collaborate with Finance staff, and cross‑functional process owners to ensure Purchase Orders, Labor Reporting, Work Orders, Inventory records, Sales Orders, Invoices, and other ERP systems accurately transact, record and report, costs, and revenue recognition Review WIP ageing reports and ensure only current work orders are active in the system Value‑driven Reporting and Support Provide weekly reports to Revenue and Costing team and other areas Contribute to the teams by supporting and executing projects or ad‑hoc reports as needed Collaborate with the external audit review as it pertains to physical inventory counts and price testing of inventory costs Sustainability and Scalability Develop and train proper backups to ensure coverage during planned and unplanned absences Stay informed about best practices in manufacturing accounting Benefits Medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid vacation, sick and personal days, paid holidays, and flexible scheduling options such as compressed workweeks.
