IT Coordinator

The focus of the IT Department is to serve our community by providing the technology foundation to support Christian worship and education. The Role As the IT Coordinator, you will provide frontline technical support to faculty, staff and students while helping maintain reliable technology across the organization. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, classroom technology, user accounts, and other common IT issues, working closely with the Director of Technology and IT team. This is a hands‑on support role that combines excellent customer service with technical problem‑solving. You will help keep end‑user devices, classroom technology, network access, and user accounts functioning effectively while recognizing when issues require escalation or additional expertise. Reporting to the campus IT Director, the role is full‑time, hourly (non‑exempt) and serves through the full calendar year. What Your Day Looks Like Provide timely desktop and help desk support using Spiceworks, TeamViewer, and other remote‑support tools. Diagnose and repair Windows computers, laptops, peripherals, printers, and Canon printer systems. Image, deploy, maintain, and track computers and other IT assets. Support classroom technology, including ViewSonic and SmartPanel displays, projectors, document cameras, and related connectivity. Support Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive), Adobe Acrobat/Creative Suite, and other school applications. Troubleshoot software installation, updates, configuration, and email issues on computers and mobile devices. Support faculty, staff, students, and guests with wireless connectivity, VPN access, access points, and basic network troubleshooting. Assist with basic server connectivity and troubleshooting. Manage Active Directory user accounts, groups, passwords, and access rights. Support PaperCut Mobility Print, student printing, Polycom telephony, and other technology systems as assigned. Communicate effectively with users, document issues, elevate problems appropriately, and follow school technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and acceptable‑use procedures. What You Need A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to serve in a Christian school environment. 2+ or more years of experience in desktop support, help desk operations, or a related IT role. Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365. Experience with hardware troubleshooting, repair, imaging, and device deployment. Basic understanding of networking concepts, including Wi‑Fi, VPN, DHCP, and DNS. Strong customer‑service, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and move between campus locations as needed. Experience with classroom or instructional technology, Active Directory, Spiceworks, PaperCut, or similar systems is a plus. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification is a plus. Able to work on‑site every day in Matthews, NC.
