Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Job Title Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician (MER0003QCH) Description Maintain production equipment to ensure daily production requirements at MBV are obtained. Responsibilities Perform repair work including necessary disassembly and re-assembly of production equipment Perform equipment preventive maintenance tasks to maintain manufacturer recommended specifications Maintain repair and maintenance records Properly size circuit conductors, install electrical equipment, wire and unwire equipment as needed; use VOM and other test equipment to identify electrical problems Identify and analyze errors and malfunctions such as intermittent electrical and mechanical failures on production equipment, PLC’s, 24V control circuits, 480V 3‑phase systems, 4‑20 mA circuits, VFDs, PC controllers, and fieldbus technology/control technology Perform modernizations, extensions, and modifications according to specifications and drawings; adjust PLC programming and troubleshoot issues; independently construct or design equipment with PLC, bus systems, network technology, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling/lubrication systems Perform daily equipment checks and monitor production equipment performance Optimize resources and installations by generating ideas and planning: changing processes, changing parameters, modifying software (PLC, PC, etc.), performing cycle‑time analysis and optimization Interact with and support associates within assigned production areas Procure operative materials, equipment, and service providers Travel and/or overtime may be required All other duties as required to support business needs Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of industrial AC/DC electricity [24 V – 480 V], mechanical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics Experience changing out bearings and motors preferred Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office, email) PLC/BUS system education and/or experience strongly preferred Oven and paint booth supply air maintenance experience preferred (e.g., Maxon Gas Train) Pumping system maintenance experience preferred Conveyor system maintenance experience preferred Strong communication skills (listening, speaking, writing) Siemens S7 PLC logic knowledge – preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Required: 4 + years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate + 3 years relevant experience; OR Relevant associate degree + 1 year relevant experience Preferred: 5 + years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate + 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant associate degree + 2 years relevant experience Indirectly relevant experience: experience working with automation equipment, mechanical repairs, working toward a related degree or certification Benefits Excellent Compensation & Benefits Plan with 401k Matching.
