Position Overview Title: Assistant Professor of Environmental Biology and Public Health Start Date: September1,2026 Type: Full‑Time Salary: $81,500 – $83,500 per year Posted: November6,2025 Category: Biology Location: Schenectady, NY Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain an independent research program that includes undergraduate participation. Teach within the Department of Biological Sciences, including introductory biology courses and upper‑level classes in your area of expertise. Contribute to the Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering programs. Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching, student mentoring, and diversity. Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, with preference for candidates who hold postdoctoral experience in research or teaching. Research experience that explores the interaction between biological systems and the environment as it relates to epidemiology and/or public health, with particular strength in host‑vector biology, microbiomes, infectious disease transmission, genetic epidemiology, or environmental effects on pathogenesis. Experience or interest in field‑based, wet‑lab, genomics, and/or computational approaches. Strong commitment to inclusive teaching, student mentoring, and diversity.
