Advertised Job Summary - The postdoc candidate is expected to perform research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator in theDDBSdepartment within the College of Pharmacy.. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for the following duties:Design and synthesize potential bioactive compoundsDevelop synthetic methodology for the synthesis of compounds of interestCharacterize compounds synthesizedConduct lab experiments, collect and analyze data, and report experimental dataTeach graduate and/or undergraduate students lab techniquesEnsure all tasks are accomplished on time and to the highest standardEngage in shared lab duties including maintenance of instruments and apparatus, lab safety and lab cleaningPrepare weekly progress reports and attend in weekly group meetingsThis is a temporary position health insurance benefits will be provided however; no retirement benefits or annual/ sick will be provided.

Qualifications - Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline by the time of the appointmentExpertise in design and execution of organic reactions, analysis and interpretation of spectroscopic data (HPLC,NMR, Mass Spec)Strong independent problem-solving skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated research accomplishmentsAbility to effectively communicate, both verbally and writingAbility to work in a team environment
