Site Supervisor Assistant

Minnetonka Community Education is hiring Assistant Site Supervisors for the Explorers before- and after-school childcare program. This is a year-round, full-time role where no two days look exactly alike. You will help lead a team, build relationships with kids and families, and make a real impact in your community every single day. An early summer start may be available on a straight shift, with the formal program start aligned to fall training week, August 24–28, 2026.
Your Role Will Include:
Support the Site Supervisor in the daily operation of the Explorers program.
Step into a lead supervisory role overseeing Lead Instructors, Program Leaders, Program Assistants, and Behavior Assistants when the Site Supervisor is out.
Develop enriching activities and program goals rooted in the Creative Curriculum framework.
Build strong communication with staff, families, and school personnel.
Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children.
Participate in staff development and ongoing training.
Qualifications:
BA or BS or AA or two years of college in a related field with 18 months of experience in school-age care.
Evidence of successful experience working in a team setting.
Evidence of successful experience in a childcare or educational setting for preschool-aged children.
Evidence of skills in using technology in curriculum.
Evidence of successful experiences with inclusion initiatives.
Evidence of strong child and parent relationships.
Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification; must complete CCAP-required training prior to first day and required staff development hours annually.
Ability to work under minimal supervision with demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and confidentiality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, coworkers, and the general public.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting at $23.64/hr + $0.60 split shift differential (effective July 1, 2025).
Increasing to $24.35/hr + $0.60 split shift differential effective July 1, 2026.
Medical and dental benefits are eligible.
Eligible for Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) in accordance with Minnesota law.
Location & Shift Times:
Groveland Elementary or Excelsior Elementary
Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
Split shift (school year): 6:30–9:30 AM and 1:00–6:00 PM.
Summer start option available: straight shift (hours TBD).
Target start: fall training week, August 24–28, 2026.
