Position Overview

We are actively recruiting for Concrete Superintendents to support projects in n various states across the Central region of the US, with some projects starting now and some starting in early 2027. Most of these projects are multi-year projects. As a Superintendent with Kiewit - you will go wherever the work is, during your career, and may be assigned to a project that could be in any of the following states: CO, MO, MT, NM, KS, NE, IA, MN, WY, ND, SD and occasionally in TX.

In this role, you will lead 2 or more crews, Kiewit’s self‑perform concrete operations in the field, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all concrete activities—including formwork, rebar, embeds, placement, finishing, and curing—on large, complex heavy civil, industrial, and vertical construction projects. District Overview

Kiewit’s Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and also support power projects. We self-perform work such as earthwork, excavation, cut and fill, mass grading, drainage, paving, concrete forming, cast in place concrete, , rebar, underground utilities, storm water/sewer, y and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of the United States. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design and willing to go where the work is! .

Location

In this role you would support projects in our Rocky Mountain region that could include working in any of the following states during your career: CO, ND, SD, WY, MT, NE, NM, MO, IA, KS, MN, and occasionally in TX. (Please note: Project durations may range from 6 months, to 3 to 5 years and we provide per diem and paid trips home fevery 2, 3 or 4 weeks, for each project assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory direction of craft workers via the general foreman and foreman, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence for all concrete related work. Ensure formwork, rebar, embeds, and placement activities meet Kiewit standards, providing clear direction, coaching and mentorship to crews. Champion Kiewit's "Nobody Gets Hurt" safety culture.
• Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications, review for constructability and accuracy. Lead daily safety bridfings, task hazard analysis and crew huddles.
• Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence. Develop detailed pour plans, sequencing and look ahead schedules. Coordinate with General Superintendent/Construction Manager to align concrete operations with overall project milestones. Maintain daily reports, including manpower, equipment, quantities, and progress.
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
• Coordinate with suppliers, testing labs, and trucks, management equipment, and ensure materials are delivered, staged and installed correctly.
• Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies. Ensure compliance with Kiewit Safety policies, OSHA standards and project specific requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field, plus 5+ years’ concrete supervision experience on heavy civil, industrial or power projects, overseeing self-performed work. If no degree, a minimum of 10+ years is required in ocncrete supervision, performing functions as outlined above.

Ideal candidate will have experience in all or most of the following areas: Experience overseeing concrete pours for mass foundations, experience with overseeing shoring plans for elevated roadway decks, bridge structures, and complex power station facility slabs, coordinating concrete placement for cast in place piles, caissons, and massive grade beams/piping caps for bridges, knownedge of subgrade and mudslabs for structural rebar placement, understanding of high precision embeds and anchor bolts down placement. Paving and linear infrastructure for runways, highways, or retaining walls.

Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents

Strong knowledge of formwork systems (Peri, Doka, EFCO, etc.), rebar installation, and concrete placement

Proven ability to lead and motivate craft workers in a self‑perform environment

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and lift plans

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills

Experience on Kiewit or similar large‑scale EPC, heavy civil, or industrial project

ACI certifications, OSHA 30, or equivalent.

Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance performing concrete related work.

Base Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000
(Please note: Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, related and years of experience, skillset, and/or location)
