Human Resources Intern Position Title: Human Resources Intern Reports To: Director of Human Resources FLSA Status: Unpaid Internship Location: Sanford Administration Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our dynamic HR team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands‑on experience in various HR functions, including employee evaluation, orientation, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and contribute to the development of our workforce management initiatives. This is NOT a remote position. Key Responsibilities Review applications and assist with candidate screening. Prepare onboarding materials and new hire packets. Assist with orientation preparation and employee onboarding activities. Maintain employee personnel files and electronic records. Assist with document scanning, filing, and record retention activities. Update employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Track required employee certifications and licenses. Support compliance initiatives related to healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Participate in strategic planning sessions to enhance HR processes and improve employee engagement. Collaborate with team members on various HR initiatives and projects as needed. Essential Functions Problem Solving Verbal Communication Professional Judgement Initiative Strategic Planning Administration/Operations Minimum Qualifications Education: Must be a student in good standing and currently enrolled in an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Experience: Previous administrative or customer service experience preferred; interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems is a plus. Licenses or Certifications: None. Criminal Background Clearance: True Health is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, a deemed Public Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n), and partners with agencies that require criminal background checks. True Health has established policies and procedures that may influence the overall employment process, hiring, and “just cause” for the termination of employees. An employee’s career could be shortened if there is a violation of any policies and procedures. Prohibited criminal behavior is defined in Florida Statute (F.S.) 408.809. Any employee arrested for any offense outlined in the F.S.408.809 will be immediately suspended and remain suspended until the charges are disposed of in court. The employee will be terminated for an arrest or conviction of any violation listed above. Note: Interns and volunteers may be required to complete a successful background clearance based on department placement. Drug/Alcohol Screenings A post‑offer drug and alcohol screen is a requirement for employment. Failure to successfully pass the drug/alcohol screen will be a cause for the offer to be rescinded. Employees are subject to random drug/alcohol screenings throughout the duration of their employment with True Health. If an employee fails to pass the drug/alcohol screening, this shall become grounds for discipline up to and including immediate termination. Note: Interns and volunteers will be required to complete a successful drug and alcohol screening.
