Where You Will Work:

Our 24‑bed Neurosurgical Unit at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center provides care for a diverse and complex patient population. As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , this unit exposes teammates to cutting‑edge neurosurgical techniques, advanced technology, and highly specialized neurological care.

You will care for a wide range of patients, including:

• Post‑operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections
• Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery patients
• Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program
• High‑volume cervical and spinal procedures
• Medical overflow patients requiring specialized neurological monitoring

This is an excellent environment for both experienced nurses and new graduate RNs , who are strongly encouraged to apply.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Strong interest in neurosurgical or neuro‑complex care
• A commitment to teamwork, communication, and continual professional growth

What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, evidence‑based care. Responsibilities include:

• Implementing the nursing process to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate care for neuro‑complex patients
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including neurosurgeons, neurologists, advanced practice clinicians, therapy, and care management
• Applying critical thinking, clinical judgment, and skilled communication to support high‑quality outcomes
• Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
• Supporting patients and families through complex neurological conditions and recovery
