About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years PACU and Preoperative experience required, minimum 2 years ICU experience required. License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district required. Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS required. CPAN, TNCC, CCRN highly desirable. Must-Have: Must live within 50 miles. Description: Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed. Obtain and record patients' vital signs. Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication. Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed. Update charting, patient files, and medical records. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions. Possess the ability to think critically and work independently. Demonstrate flexibility by being available for on-call shifts as required. Choose 1-2 Saturday on-call shifts during an 8-week scheduling period. Select 2 day and 2 night shifts within the same scheduling period. Recent experience in a level I trauma center is crucial.
