Prudent Engineering is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Prudent seeks a skilled Land Survey Party Chief to join our team. The Land Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading field survey crews, performing boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys, and ensuring accurate collection and processing of survey data. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the capability to coordinate with project managers, clients, and office staff to deliver high-quality survey products. What you'll be able to do: Lead and supervise field survey crews, including crew scheduling, daily task assignments, and on-site oversight to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Conduct boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys, ensuring precise measurements and adherence to project specifications. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to verify accuracy, completeness, and reliability of collected survey data. Coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify scope, communicate progress, and resolve technical issues. Manage accurate field-to-office data transfer, ensuring proper documentation, data verification, and timely processing for deliverables. Operate and maintain survey equipment including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS units, and data collectors; analyze data and prepare maps, plats, and reports using CAD software. The minimum requirements we seek: Minimum A.A.S. degree in Land Surveying or related field. 5+ years of field surveying experience, including Party Chief responsibilities Strong leadership and crew management skills Familiar with Trimble S5/S7 Robotics, Trimble R12i RTK, Trimble R10 base station, Trimble TSC5 data collection, Trimble Access, and Trimble digital levels and level run adjustments. Proficiency in MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads, Autodesk Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and Trimble Business Center are preferred. Working knowledge of CAD software Valid NYS Driver's License Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Certifications: NYS Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) optional, CST preferred What you'll receive in return: A base salary of $60,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience, plus, prevailing wage rates when applicable.
