Weld Technician

Overview Collins Aerospace is recruiting a welding technician to work on the 3rd Shift (12:00am to 8:30am, Monday to Friday) at its Windsor Locks facility in Connecticut. U.S. citizenship is required to access the information handled in this role. The salary range for this position is $36.46 to $45.80 per hour. Responsibilities Operate welding, soldering, and brazing equipment to manufacture heat exchangers, water separators, and environmental control system components. Follow specifications, sketches, technical orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions to produce quality parts. Perform fusion welding, salt braze torch brazing, plasma cutting, electric‑arc, heli‑arc, and acetylene welding processes. Ensure all documentation, tools, gauges, and fixtures are compliance‑certified and traceable. Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and assist with audits of processes and work areas. Move parts and materials to designated locations following normal material flow procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Provide related duties as required within the scope and skill level of the job function. What You Will Learn Operate within Lean Manufacturing methods. Apply welding techniques to meet tight aerospace specifications and tolerances. Collaborate cross‑functionally across manufacturing and process teams. Qualifications 1–2 years of relevant production welding experience. High school diploma or GED. Required: U.S. citizenship. Preferred Qualifications 5–7 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry. Experience with TIG and aluminum welding. Production welding experience in aerospace applications.
