PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

As a Benefits Account Executive, you will serve as a strategic partner to clients and your assigned producer, managing employee benefit accounts with a focus on retention, growth, and exceptional service delivery. At Scott Insurance, our Account Executives are responsible for overseeing the full client lifecycle—from plan strategy and renewal management to compliance oversight and ongoing consultative support.

This will be an on-site position with the opportunity to move to a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office per week + 2 days remote) once training is complete. This role may require travel to our branch locations and client sites to provide on-site support as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients and supporting the assigned producer in long‑term benefits strategy and relationship management.
• Lead development of strategic recommendations, including cost‑containment approaches and renewal strategies across self‑funded, fully insured, and captive plans.
• Oversee renewal execution—directing project plans, coordinating internal resources, and managing carrier negotiations to achieve optimal results.
• Provide high‑level guidance on complex issues, offering clear, consultative solutions to clients and internal teams.
• Advise on ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and related compliance matters with an emphasis on practical application.
• Deliver insights through custom financial models and performance dashboards that inform client decision‑making.
• Evaluate carrier methodologies and projections to provide objective, data‑driven recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client engagement.
• Act as the leader of the account management teams to align strategy, timelines, and execution across the client lifecycle.
• Support effective use of agency systems and tools as part of overall client strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 4+ years of employee benefits administration experience required, with a strong understanding of underwriting methodologies and health reinsurance contract structures.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with executive-level client stakeholders, including CFOs, CEOs, and HR Directors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support internal service teams by managing timelines, setting expectations, reviewing work for accuracy, and assisting with technical and service development.
• Active Life & Health insurance license or the ability to obtain a license within 90 days; CEBS designation preferred or progress toward completion.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to successfully implement project strategies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
