About the Role

KARL STORZ is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will set up, operate, and optimize CNC equipment including lathes, mills, and Swiss-style machines to manufacture high-quality medical device components. You will work from blueprints and setup documentation, perform inspections to ensure product conformance, edit CNC programs as needed, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who thrives in a precision manufacturing environment and is passionate about producing quality components that support lifesaving medical technologies.

Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Work Location: Onsite manufacturing role.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and Swiss-style machines to produce precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to ensure accurate machining and inspection requirements are met.
• Edit CNC programs, make machine offsets, and perform necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
• Inspect parts to blueprint specifications, record inspection data, and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving related to machine setup, tooling, and production issues.
• Conduct routine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to maintain equipment performance and reliability.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and solution implementation.

What You Bring

• 3 to 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up CNC machines using layouts, setup sheets, and process documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience inspecting machined components and documenting measurement data.
• Ability to edit CNC programs and make process adjustments as required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience machining medical device components.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with exotic metals such as nitinol, stainless steels, and nickel alloys.
• Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 requirements.
