Position Summary The Greenhouse Lead supports the daily success of greenhouse operations at the 4Roots Farm Campus by helping oversee production activities, coordinating workflow among greenhouse staff and interns, and ensuring quality, efficiency, and organization throughout the greenhouse environment. This hands‑on role supports crop production, plant health, greenhouse systems, and campus presentation while assisting the Greenhouse Manager in maintaining a productive and mission‑driven growing operation. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on greenhouse or controlled environment agriculture experience. Strong understanding of greenhouse operations, plant production cycles, and integrated pest management (IPM). Experience with seeding, germination, transplanting, harvesting, and crop maintenance. Working knowledge of greenhouse systems, including irrigation, fertigation, ventilation, and environmental controls. Ability to lead, organize, and coordinate daily workflow for a small team. Strong communication, organizational, and record‑keeping skills. Ability to work in greenhouse conditions, including heat, humidity, and extended standing periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Passion for sustainable and regenerative agriculture aligned with the 4Roots mission. Preferred Qualifications Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience with hydroponic, vertical farming, or controlled environment growing systems. Familiarity with CSA operations, harvest coordination, and produce quality control standards. Experience training or mentoring team members, volunteers, or interns. Experience supporting educational programs, tours, or public‑facing agricultural spaces. What You’ll Do Help oversee daily greenhouse operations and workflow. Delegate tasks and support greenhouse staff and interns. Execute seeding, transplanting, harvesting, and crop production schedules. Monitor plant health, greenhouse systems, and environmental conditions. Conduct quality control checks for greenhouse produce and CSA harvests. Assist with integrated pest management (IPM) and greenhouse sanitation practices. Maintain greenhouse organization, cleanliness, and campus presentation standards. Support tours, volunteer groups, educational experiences, and greenhouse events. Collaborate with Operations, Education, and Marketing teams to support campus initiatives and programming.
