Athletic Trainer Supervisor

The individual is responsible for the prevention, care, rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and the administration of all facets of the athletic training room and program.

Essential Duties:

• Establish standard procedures for first aid and emergency care of athletes during practice and games.
• Coordinate the supervision and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
• Establish recommendations and provisions of appropriate training and conditioning procedures.
• Establish and supervise a student-teacher trainer program.
• Establish and supervise the operation of a well-equipped training room.
• Coordinate the acquisition of appropriate consent forms.
• Establish procedures for physical examination for all participants.

Other Duties:

• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required):

• Completion of an approved Athletic Training Education Program.
• Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by BOC.
• State of South Carolina Certification as an Athletic Trainer through DHEC.
• Ability to work effectively with people.

Additional physical requirements include the following: Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students; Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus; Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; Manual dexterity; Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone and Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.

Work Environment:

Duties are normally performed in a school/training room, athletic field environment.

Pay Grade : 203,204 (Based on Education)
