Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) specializing in pain management. This role is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care, including the safe administration and monitoring of moderate sedation. The ideal candidate is experienced in outpatient procedural settings, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and prioritizes patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care for pain management procedures
• Administer and monitor moderate (conscious) sedation in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards
• Continuously assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, airway, and level of consciousness during procedures
• Assist physicians during interventional pain procedures (e.g., epidural injections, nerve blocks, RF ablations)
• Ensure proper documentation of medications, sedation records, and patient responses
• Educate patients and families on procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a sterile and safe procedural environment
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in code situations as needed
• Ensure compliance with ASC policies, infection control standards, and accreditation requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State]
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Moderate sedation certification and demonstrated competency
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in OR, PACU, ICU, or ASC setting (pain management experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of sedation medications, airway management, and patient monitoring
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced outpatient environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience in interventional pain management procedures
• Proficiency with EMR systems
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Strong critical thinking and rapid response capabilities

Work Environment & Schedule

• Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center
• No weekends or major holidays (depending on facility)
• Predictable schedule with minimal on-call requirements
