Progressive from the start, we consistently set the pace for industry best practices.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Barista who is passionate about hospitality and guest service. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality beverages, providing warm and attentive service, and supporting daily café operations and catered functions. The ideal candidate anticipates guest needs and helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide elevated, customer-first service with a warm and welcoming demeanor.Anticipate guest needs and proactively address questions or concerns.Maintain strong knowledge of coffee, tea, baked goods, and retail offerings to confidently describe menu items.Beverage & Food PreparationPrepare high-quality, consistent coffee and tea-based beverages.Assemble food items as needed, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to standards.Cafe OperationsHandle cash and other forms of payment accurately and efficiently using POS systems.Maintain cleanliness of the café throughout the shift, including service areas and equipment.Restock food and beverage items as directed by management.Perform opening and closing procedures accurately and efficiently.Assist with managing, counting, and organizing café inventory.Qualifications1–2 years of hospitality experience in a customer-facing rolePassion for food, beverage, and hospitalityStrong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly describe menu itemsProfessional demeanor and polished appearanceStrong work ethic; well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with a sense of urgencyDependable, punctual, and reliableEnthusiastic team player with a positive attitudeExperience with restaurant POS systems and cash/credit card handlingAbility to lift up to 50 lbs., reach, bend, and stand for up to 8 hours per shiftFood Handler's Certificate is a plusLocation: 9 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019Schedule: Part-time, On-SiteBase salary: $23.00Benefits: Paid and unpaid safe and sick hoursMust be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.Great Performances is an equal opportunity employer.
