Job Description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or related field
Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings

Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring for students with hearing impairments
Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, families, and support teams
Passion for fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting lessons to individual needs and communication styles
Collaborate with general education staff to ensure access to curriculum and classroom activities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and track student progress
Support students in building language, communication, and self-advocacy skills
Provide guidance for classroom modifications and assistive technology tools to optimize learning
Serve as a resource for families and school staff on best practices and strategies for supporting students with hearing impairments
