This person is responsible for adhering to the mission statement while providing dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children in our care.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesProvide for the emotional, physical, and social needs of children while they are in your careInteract and actively engage with childrenTeach curriculum, lead crafts, and the activities that are providedSupervise children while they are in your careChange diapers and assist younger children in bathroom (caregivers must be 18 to change diapers)Work well with other childcare staff and volunteersMaintain good and positive communication with parentsAt the end of program, clean room, wipe down tables, sanitize toys, take trash to designated area, etc.Be in class at the scheduled timeStay until all children are picked up and the room is cleanedKeep the classroom neat and organizedNotify leader of supply needsKnow and follow RPC Kids Volunteer HandbookComplete Child Care Protection Training and background check, as requiredCommit to pray for this ministry, specifically for the children in your careReport any needs and issues that may need the attention of the Childcare Director in a timely mannerPerform other tasks as assigned by supervisorCharacter ExpectationsA believer in Jesus Christ and has a heart for His childrenHas a passion for influencing children's lives with God's love and messagePassionate about creating environments that teach God's truth in an engaging and relevant wayHas a heart for empowering parents to be the primary influence in a child's spiritual lifeDependable and flexibleMaintains a balance between doing ministry and being ministered toWorks well independently and with a teamIntuitive to the needs of children, parents, and volunteersDesires to build relationships with childcare workers, ministry volunteers, and RPC familiesCompassionate and handles matters with sensitivity and grace
