Platform Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure software for authentication, authorization, API security, secure communications, data storage, and access controls.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies and conduct security code reviews.
• Develop automated security testing procedures and identify risks in existing codebases.
• Respond to security incidents and participate in incident response procedures.
• Improve the platform’s security posture through security enhancements and document security processes, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; a master’s degree is a strong plus.
• At least 5 years of software development experience with a strong focus on security.
• Proven experience designing and implementing secure authentication and authorization systems.
• In-depth knowledge of secure coding principles and practices, including OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with secure communication protocols such as TLS/SSL.
• Familiarity with security testing tools and methodologies, including static code analysis and penetration testing.
• Strong coding skills in languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience with cloud security principles and tools, including AWS Security and GCP Security.
• Experience with container security, including Docker Security and Kubernetes Security.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, ownership, and independent working skills.
