Dietitian (HR) Pediatric Outpatient Casual

Role Overview This is a Casual position meaning that the hours per week are not guaranteed although they would generally be 8-16 hours per week. The Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian role supports the Pediatric Gastroenterology team. Responsibilities Develop and implement a nutrition plan of care for all assigned patients. Foster continuity of care across the continuum of care. Continuously evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Provide nutrition education to patients and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goals. Manage the delivery of nutrition care services according to the site of care assigned. Participate in performance improvement. Mentor diet clerks and other support personnel. Actively assess, evaluate and maintain professional development and competency related to the competencies outlined in the position description. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in food and nutrition or dietetics. Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed Dietitian within the State of Illinois. Maintains dietetic registration, state-required credentials and/or licensure and continuing education requirements. Good instructional and communication skills. Experience in hospital clinical dietetics preferred. Preferred: Proficiency in Nutrition Focused Physical Exams. Previous active role with hospital or department performance improvement projects or committees.
