This position is primarily focused on hardware design, comprising approximately 85% of your daily responsibilities. You will lead the design, development, and layout of electronic control and monitoring circuitry, followed by the testing and validation of the boards you have personally created. - Hardware Design: Lead electrical schematic capture and PCB design/layout, utilizing Altium as our primary design tool.
- Testing & Validation: Perform hands-on testing, verification, and troubleshooting of your designs to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply a strong understanding of EMC/EMI and functional safety principles throughout the design process to ensure reliability and industry compliance.
- Product Development: Support the development of mechatronics products and contribute to cross-functional team efforts to migrate designs into successful production.
- Collaboration: Work directly with customers as needed to ensure designs meet specified performance needs (travel requirements for this are very minimal).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience in electronic hardware design.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in PCB schematic capture and PCB layout is essential.
- Knowledge Base: A solid understanding of EMC/EMI and functional safety is required.
- Desired (but not required): Experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry is beneficial, as is experience with embedded C/C++ programming.
