Quality Assurance Sanitation Supervisor

This position oversees the nightly sanitation process. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that JBS policies and procedures are being followed during the sanitation process which includes but is not limited to, employee safety, identifying and documenting sanitation and plant opportunities, monitor the sanitation process to ensure the proper application of cleaning procedures are being applied, verify documentation and dilution of cleaners and sanitizers, help with preparing the plant for pre-operational inspection and if needed help with pre-operational inspection process. The supervisor will also inspect / walk through different areas of the plant to identify repairs needed by maintenance or outside contractors and complete the appropriate paperwork as needed to generate a work order. This position will interact and work with multiple department leaders on specific issues pertaining to department. Complete appropriate end of shift paperwork.

Key functions include monitoring the sanitation process, ensuring that JBS and government policies are being followed, completing a walkthrough of the plant to identify areas of opportunity, serving as a liaison between sanitation management, plant departments and government regulatory organizations, interacting and working with different departmental leaders, verifying chemical dilutions, managing the weekly master sanitation schedule, documenting and ensuring corrective actions are in place, visually verifying required documents, verifying staffing numbers by area, conducting daily/after shift meetings, participating in meetings, communicating ideas, suggestions, problems and solutions, assisting in pre-operational inspection, documenting safety inspections, reporting findings, citing, recommending, and implementing corrective actions, providing coaching to all Sanitors on the application of safety principles, practices, and techniques in the workplace, assisting Incident Commander in facility evacuations & shelter in place, and helping direct rescue, firefighting operations, police authority in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Skills and abilities required include strong organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimum supervision, self-motivation, strong and effective communication skills, verbal, oral and written, ability to make decisions following company policies and procedures, ability to reach or exceed goal expectations, ability to tactfully work with multiple supervisors, leads and managers from other departments and agencies to relay opportunities, issues and concerns, and intermediate to advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day, ability to lift 50 lbs. Hearing must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers. Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day. Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their work days.
