About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the senior operational leader and second-in-command. The COO will be responsible for the oversight of daily operations, logistics, and systems that support the acquisition, management, and distribution of food. This role requires a focus on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic goals, as well as fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and service. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute strategic goals, monitor key performance indicators, and ensure the effective allocation of organizational resources. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master’s degree, and at least 5 years of management experience in operations, logistics, or a related area. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as are excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities. Experience in nonprofit operations or food banking is a plus. The COO will be expected to lead operational planning, disaster response, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. The role also involves representing the organization in various engagements and requires a commitment to the mission of serving individuals and communities in need.
